Donna P. Touzalin, Partner

Donna Touzalin represents a broad range of clients in various legal matters, including residential real estate transactions, individual and corporate bankruptcy issues, and personal estate planning. Ms. Touzalin also counsels board members of condominium associations regarding homeowner issues, contract disputes, and potential contract claims against former property management companies. In addition, Ms. Touzalin has extensive experience litigating preference and fraudulent conveyance avoidance actions.

Ms. Touzalin has given presentations to the National Association of Credit Mangers regarding the implementation of credit policies to mitigate liability exposure in bankruptcy preference actions. Ms. Touzalin has also counseled credit managers regarding various defenses to bankruptcy preference actions.

Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Touzalin served as a law clerk to former Chief Bankruptcy Judge Honorable Susan Pierson Sonderby for the United States Bankruptcy Court for Northern District of Illinois, and Honorable Ronald Guzman, District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

Ms. Touzalin received her Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 2000. She received her undergraduate degree in accounting, with honors, from DePaul University in 1988. She became a certified public accountant in 1990. Ms. Touzalin is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Illinois Supreme Court. Ms. Touzalin also serves on the fundraising committee for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.

Ms. Touzalin is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, American Institute of CPAs, and the Illinois Society of CPAs.
